March kicked off with 3rd graders from Adath Israel Temple organizing a donation drive for our homeless animals and making homemade dog treats as part of Mitzvah Day. Upon turning 12 years old, Julia chose to volunteer as part of her birthday celebration - she, along with friends and family, made nearly 150 rice socks to keep our littlest kittens warm during transport between shelters and to their foster homes this summer. We visited both Abstract Displays and Cincinnati Bell for their respective employee volunteer fairs. Our Humane Education volunteers visited Milford Preschool and St. James School Child Care for programs. And, volunteers from GE Aviation and Klosterman Bakery came to the shelter to build cat beds and to create animal enrichment items to help with the mental health of our homeless animals.
