Cincinnati community members joined us for an evening to learn about frogs and identify their calls! They heard expert knowledge about frogs, where and how they lived and learned to distinguish which calls belong to whom. They collected data that was submitted to the FrogWatch Citizen Science program.
Frogs and toads play essential roles as both prey and predator in wetland ecosystems and are considered indicators of environmental health. Many populations have experienced dramatic population declines, and this program provides data essential to scientists to understand the scope, geographic scale, and cause of these declines.
